The first time I tried this shrimp sauce I just knew that I had to find a low carb version of it! I did it AND now Alby and I eat it on EVERYTHING! This is one of my favorite sauces to compliment a great meal! The way we make it here at the house it has a very small carb count which is great on the diet. However if you are making it look out for the carb count on your mayo! We use Dukes Mayonnaise here at the house which luckily has 0 carbs! A lot of mayo out there will have additional carbs so be sure to keep an eye on that!
We use this sauce with all of our Asian inspired dishes including our sesame chicken as well as on salads!
Shrimp Sauce Recipe
1 Tbs. Melted Butter
1/4 tsp. Paprika
1/2 Tsp. Garlic Powder
Dash of cyanne Pepper
1 1/4 c. Dukes Mayo
1 tsp. tomato paste
1 tsp. splenda or sugar substitute
1/4 c. water
Stir all ingredients except for the water together in a medium size bowl. Stir in water last and slowly until you get the preferred thickness of the sauce. You might not use all of the water. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours or overnight. This allows the individual flavors to meld together.
